How much does an Uber Eats delivery driver earn in Australia?

As an Uber Eats delivery driver, you are paid according to the number of deliveries you make. Your salary therefore depends mainly on the number of hours you spend delivering. But we'll see that there are other factors to take into account when it comes to make as much money as possible by carrying out this activity...

How much does a delivered order earn?

The amount charged by Uber Eats for the delivery of an order is set automatically, presumably by an algorithm that only the company's developers know how it works.

The amount received for each race can vary from 4$ to more than 40$ based on the distance from your location to the restaurant, and then to the customer's address.

Note that Uber can sometimes offer you a ride for a ridiculous amount for the number of kilometres involved. It's up to you to refuse certain rides and only accept those that are worth the money.

ℹ️ If you take longer to deliver an order than expected by Uber Eats (delay at the restaurant or problem on the road), you will receive compensation.

What are the best working hours?

That's logical, but it's worth remembering that  the best timetables to work are the times when people order the most food. In other words:

  • The morning between 7h00 and 9h30 for breakfast
  • Lunch between 11h30 and 13h30 for lunch
  • The evening between 17h00 and 21h00 for dinner.

Outside these times, there will be fewer orders, but there will potentially be fewer delivery drivers connected, and therefore just as much work. It depends on the city, so it's up to you to experiment and identify the times that work best in the area where you work.

What's more, the more difficult the working conditions (rain, cold, hail, etc.), the more work there will be: fewer delivery drivers outside, more orders!

Uber Eats opportunities

These are promotional bonus. In simple terms, the more orders you deliver, the more bonuses you receive. Again, these bonuses vary randomly from day to day and from delivery person to delivery person.

No, it's not really a koala hiding behind these articles... My name is Valentin and I'm a backpacker. As an Uber Eats delivery driver myself in Australia, I created this website to help other delivery drivers get started in this business.
